Majestic!

I love the seasons and am doing my best to get my fair share of them, since I moved to the East Coast. Posted by Picasa

Tatiana and I study outdoors

What a gorgeous afternoon on Teddy Roose Island. For the middle of Nov. it's quite warm out. Perfect weather for sitting outside and studying GPCR's. Posted by Picasa

Lovely ladies of G-dub!

Tyrus and Nick held their annual Mustachio Bashio. Most of us were too drained after exams to celebrate Halloween. But we made up for it, last night! Posted by Picasa

Death Cab For Cutie, concert at DAR

One of the greatest concerts I have ever been to... no joke! I didn't want them to quit playing. Seriously, I could have stayed and danced all night. Great songs, good lyrics, personality on stage, and sneaking up to the fifth row... not a bad night, at all! The most entertaining moment was the token guy who suddenly appeared on stage, dancing as he skirted across the stage. The band's stagehands booted his butt offstage quicker than you could imagine. It looked like it hurt! Not a way to make friends with band members, at all. Posted by Picasa

Cheetah at the zoo!

After the exam war ended, I took a little time for myself on Saturday and went to the zoo with my camera. The cats were out, running and playing. Do animals have the greatest imaginations, or what? You can tell they've got some sort of mind game going on upstairs in their heads. What do you think he's chasing? Something wild and exotic like a two-headed walrus? You never know! Posted by Picasa

Mien Yu for dinner!

This place was fun! It's this crazy little place in G-town, called Mien Yu, that has a bunch of different themed rooms. It was written up in Wine Spec and Washingtonian. Of course the room we really wanted was the birdcage that's suspended up high near the ceiling. But it cost $150 a head and none of us was feeling particularly rich. We're all med students, afterall! We sat in the Morrocan Bizarre room after chilling in the funky little bar. The cocktails were out of this world. The food was fantastic, tool... and that dessert... oh, the dessert! It was soooo yummy. Posted by Picasa

Completion of both Neuro exams

A very good feeling... taking our last two out of six exams on my birthday was not so bad afterall. I couldn't have been happier. We got out early enough to catch happy hour and then go home to decompress for a little while before our fancy dinner in Georgetown. The day started at 4am... probably the longest birthday ever! Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday!

Hopefully, never again will I end up with a Neuro exam on my birthday. In this case there were two of them: one in the morning and one 4 hours later. Before the morning exam started, my professor announced, "on behalf of all the staff, a happy birthday to Laura Miller"! That was a little confusing for a few people who were fairly certain it was my birthday. I have no idea how he mixed that one up. Another happy surprise... Kirsten decorated my locker with balloons at around 6am, before she settled down for a little last minute cramming. What a sweetheart! It was just like high school, all over again! Posted by Picasa
