Condo hunting begins!
Moving yet again! The big choice will be between living in the District or in Virginia. At ,I was leaning towards the District, for convenience and the experience itself. But it is sad how little you get for your money, downtown. I have gotten accustomed to such beautiful large houses. It would be hard to give that up. Besides, how can I really complain about living one Metro stop away from school?Did I mention how excited I am? After driving around DC yesterday, I started to see for my own eyes how cool of a city it is. There will be a lot of great exploring to do. The Kennedy Center is right down the street. Dupont Circle is up the other way, with Adam's Morgan just past it and Georgetown a little more off to the west. Everything within walking distance. One of the things I missed about San Francisco are the urban hikes... well, Washington DC is a great place for picturesque urban hikes! Not to mention the Mall and Smithsonian. I forgot how many trees and pretty old buildings dot the city. Federal style archetecture, everywhere! The G-Dub campus is great, too. Incredibly safe, relative to Philadelphia. And very clean! Washington, DC will be a fun place to be for four years. I'm thrilled. I really, really am!

G-Dub Med School, HERE I COME!
That's right! I got my acceptance yesterday at 2:30pm. I was walking down Locust Walk, talking on the phone with my friend, when I got a call-waiting buzz from a 202 area code. Honestly, I didn't think anything of it, until I hung up the call. Then I realized that 202 is a DC number and G-Dub Medical School was the only entity in DC that I could think of. Dean McQ had left me a message, so I called her back, though I was running late to a 2:30pm meeting. This just couldn't wait! I was stooping in a hallway, facing Ben and Jerry's on 40th Street when she picked up the call. "How are you doing, today?" I told her, "I'm great!" And she said, "Well, I'm hoping to make your day even better. I have a seat to offer you!"What timing, too... Tonight, I was supposed to start my Immunobiology class. But instead I'm doing online G-Dub research, checking out last year's "Residency Match List" and thinking about where I want to live. I'm excited! My friends took me out to celebrate last night, to Alma de Cuba. This week, I am teaching and getting in touch with everyone I know, to tell them the news. So much to think about. So much relaxing and fun to be had!
