Dawning of Spring Semester

Refreshed from my vacation, I have been back in school for a week now and am slowing ramping back up to studying. I love all of my classes, so far. There are actually people I know in each of my classes. Wow, what a difference that makes! I'm really enjoying myself and was glad to be back in Philly after my vacation... did you catch that? Yes! I was happy to be back in my happy home (dirty as it is), though I still need to take down the Christmas tree. ooops!

Tonight after Biochemistry, Emily and I grabbed some sushi and then I met up with my friends Josh and Tracy and a few others to go ice skating. It was so much fun. Tracy and one of the other girls was also a figure skater, so we were skating around the center, trying to do old jumps and spins. My sit spin wasn't all that bad! I got down 100% of the way and got right back up again. Fun! I love ice skating so much. Buzzing around quickly, weaving between people. But the spins made me incredibly dizzy. After doing a spin, I had to stand still and hold my temples, laughing while the world stopped whirling around my head. But my blades are incredibly dull. I need to find a pro to sharpen them. I'm picky about who does it though. There are only two people in the world who have ever sharpened my skates. I wonder if good ole Harrold still works at Fairfax Ice Arena, where I grew up! :) I can't wait to get back on the ice again. Josh took some pictures, so I'll try and grab some from him to post. Good times!! (and they're up... thanks Josh!)
And the most exciting thing to share... SARAH's COMING!!

i used to be pretty good at ice skating when i was younger. now that i am further from the ice - it frightens the heck of me.

girlie! you're a figure skater? the things we don't know about our friends... i, despite growing up in the frozen northland, am quite comical on ice. and not in a fun/follies sort of way. ouch.
